If you hold me
and say Forever,
can we stop the hands of time
and always be together?
If we kiss
and our lips never part,
do we have a chance
of preserving this heart?
Or will time be cruel
and wither what we have away?
If so,
can we stop time for just one day?
Can I hold you,
be with you,
without having to worry that
one day this will be through?
Can I stop the grains of sand
from pouring in the hour glass?
Can I refuse
the minutes, hours, a way to pass?
I hate the thought
of running out of time.
I hate being controlled
by the power of a clocks chime.
I feel as though Im a mere puppet,
my master the hands of the clock,
telling me how much time I have left
by a simple tick-tock.
I cant help but fear
that with everyone chime,
this love
is running out of time.
So can we take apart the clock?
Destroy every spring and screw?
If we freeze for just a moment,
maybe Ill have time to say I love you.

People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appriciate them when they're right, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
